The Northwest Pennsylvania Trail Association is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization incorporated in 2001 by a group of dedicated bicyclists from the Presque Isle Cycling Club and the Corry Community Development Corporation.

Rails-to-Trails is a nationwide movement to preserve our railroading heritage through the conversion of abandoned railroad corridors into public recreational trails. Pennsylvania has been a leader in trail development, but before 2001, Erie County PA did not have a single Rail-to-Trail. Currently the association is working to develop two trails in the county, the Corry Junction Greenway Trail and the Crooked Creek Trail.

Mission Statement

To engage in non-commercial acquisition, development and maintenance of multi-use
trails on or near railway corridors in the Northwest Pennsylvania area.
